Methanol is one of the three  major products of  chemical industries in the world and many materials are  derived  it.

Also as far as to lack of correct foresee of energy resources in the future , direct use of Methanol is considered as a clean fuel or in consumed Hydrogen production of  fuel cells. The third units of Methanol has been designed and exchanged by Fanavaran Petrochemical Company in the special Economic Zone in Bandar –e-Emam Khomeini.

It produces one million ton Methanol yearly with AA purity and  annual feed stock of 610/000 tons natural  gas from National Iranian Gas Company and 268/000 tons carbonic gas from Razi and Maroon Petrochemicals. The feed stock of the unit is entered to reformer after  sulfurzation with steam and it is converted to synthesis gas containing hydrogen ,Carbon Monoxide and carbonic gas at temperature of about 900c. produced  synthesis is condensed after cooling and it is converted to crude Methanol in the synthesis part reactors. Then after dehydration of water in distillation unit ,net Methanol is produced with AA purity .

Project technology had been bought from Denmark Haldor-Topsoe company and Sazeh Iranian company and Italian Snam-Projetti company was responsible for designing  and  providing of  equipment plant construction and installation has been done by Mehvarsazan technical company . This unit was exploited in 2004.

Project Cost :

Buying license /principles engineering /detailed engineering /providing of equipment and the presentation of exchange .134 million dollars (equal to 469 milliard Rials).
